Xiaomi first launched the Redmi Note 17 5G smartphone in the Indian market, following which the complete series was introduced globally. Now, the brand has launched the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G smartphones in India. As expected, the Indian variant of the Note 17 Pro 5G comes with the same set of specifications as its Chinese counterpart, unlike the global model, which packs a smaller battery.

Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G and Note 17 Pro Max 5G – Specifications
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G features a 6.83″ 1.5K 12-bit TrueColour LTPS OLED flat display screen, which supports a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3500 nits of peak brightness, and 2000 nits of HBM brightness. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection is also being offered.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM + 8GB of memory extension and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 based storage. Notably, the 128GB variant comes with UFS 2.2 storage.
For photography, the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G sports a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera at the rear, along with a 16MP selfie camera featuring a 1/3″ sensor. Live Moments and Dual Video Capture are also supported.
On the battery side, the device packs a 9000mAh battery backup with support for 67W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging. Xiaomi claims that the smartphone can offer more than 3.5 days of battery life on a single charge.

Speaking more, the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G features Dolby Atmos audio with a 300% volume boost and has received TÜV SÜD’s 5-star Quality Certification. Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC connectivity are also supported.
Coming to the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G, it features a 6.83″ 1.5K TrueColour LTPS OLED flat display with a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. The display offers up to 3500 nits of peak brightness, 2000 nits of HBM brightness, and a minimum brightness of 1 nit. It also supports 3840Hz PWM dimming, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+, along with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, which is being advertised as making its India debut with the device. It is coupled with LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 6400Mbps and UFS 4.1 storage. With up to 12GB of memory extension on its 12GB RAM variant, the device can offer up to 24GB of total RAM.
For its cameras, the Pro Max model carries a 50MP OIS-supported primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera at the rear, along with a 32MP selfie camera featuring a 1/3.6″ sensor. Both the front and rear camera systems support 4K video recording.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G is backed by a larger 10,000mAh battery, which supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging. Dolby Atmos audio with a 400% volume boost is also being offered.
An IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K-rated body is offered for protection against dust and water. The smartphone is also being promoted with ‘Redmi Titan Quality’, covering water resistance, drop resistance, and after-sales service. Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC connectivity are supported as well.
Both smartphones run on Android 16 with the Xiaomi HyperOS 3 custom skin, and the brand has promised four years of software updates and six years of security updates. Xiaomi Offline Communication, Google Gemini, and Circle to Search are supported on both models, while the Pro Max additionally features Xiaomi HyperAI and the AI Creativity Assistant.
Pricing and Availability
Regarding the pricing, the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G’s 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants are priced at INR 36,999 and INR 39,999, respectively and with an instant bank discount of up to INR 3000, it brings their effective prices down to INR 33,999 and INR 36,999, respectively.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G is priced at INR 49,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant and INR 55,999 for the 12GB/256GB variant, and here, instead of INR 3,000, Xiaomi is offering an instant bank discount of up to INR 5000 which brings their effective prices down to INR 44,999 and INR 50,999, respectively. The bank offers are also applicable to eligible credit-card EMI transactions.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G will be available in Cloud Blue, Purple Vibe, and Stealth Black colour options, while the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G will be offered in Secret Sunrise, Matcha Green, and Stealth Black.
Launch benefits also include a two-year worry-free care plan, 500GB of cloud storage with Google Gemini Pro, and a Jio OTT Pass.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G will go on sale in India starting 17th September 2026, while the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G will be available from 23rd September 2026. Both smartphones will be sold through Amazon India, Xiaomi India’s official website, and other authorised retailers.
