Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 17 5G smartphone in the Indian market. Just as previously rumoured, the Indian variant arrives with specifications similar to those of the model launched earlier in China.

Redmi Note 17 5G – Specifications and Features
The Redmi Note 17 5G features a 6.99-inch (17.75cm) flat TrueColour AMOLED display with a resolution of 2396 × 1080 pixels, up to a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It also supports a 2160Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate in selected gaming scenarios.
The display further offers 1,800 nits of peak brightness, a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, TÜV eye-protection certification, HydroTouch 2.0, and an in-display optical fingerprint sensor. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection is also given on the device.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the 4nm-based Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 Mobile Platform. The octa-core processor offers a maximum clock speed of 2.3GHz and is paired with an Adreno GPU.
The smartphone arrives with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. It also supports storage expansion through a microSD card.
Coming to its cameras, the Redmi Note 17 5G sports a 50MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 5P lens. The rear camera supports Film Filters, Portrait, Document Mode, Voice Shutter, Exposure Feedback, Dynamic Photos, Pro Mode, Slow Motion, Panorama, Time-Lapse, and High-Resolution modes.
At the front, the device features an 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Its front camera features include Fill Light, Dynamic Photos, Beauty Mode, Filters, Voice Shutter, Gesture Shutter, Time-Lapse, Teleprompter, Portrait, and Video Beauty. Both cameras support video recording at up to 1080p at 30fps.
The device is backed by an 8,000mAh high-density silicon-carbon battery managed by the Xiaomi Surge G1 battery-management chip. It supports 45W wired fast charging and up to 22.5W reverse wired charging. Xiaomi is also including a 45W charger inside the retail box.
On the software side, the smartphone runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3. Its connectivity features include 5G, 4G, 3G, 2G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C, and an IR blaster.
In addition to this, the Redmi Note 17 5G comes equipped with a virtual proximity sensor, ambient-light sensor, accelerometer, and electronic compass.
Regarding its design, the smartphone measures 169.70 × 79.14 × 8.4mm and weighs 225g.
Pricing and Availability
Speaking about its pricing, the Redmi Note 17 5G arrives in two memory options of 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB. These variants are priced at INR 27,999 and INR 30,999, respectively.
The smartphone is offered in Arctic Blue, Starlight Purple, and Dark Night colour choices. It will go on sale in India starting from the 12th of August 2026 through Amazon India, the Xiaomi India website, and Xiaomi retail outlets.

As part of the launch offers, customers can avail an instant discount of up to INR 3,000 using eligible ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, SBI Card, IDFC FIRST Bank, and Kotak Bank credit cards. The offer is also applicable to eligible credit-card EMI transactions.
Alternatively, buyers can avail a discount of INR 1,500 on eligible UPI transactions.
Xiaomi is also offering three months of YouTube Premium Lite and a six-month trial of the Google One Standard plan with 200GB of cloud storage. All the above-mentioned offers are subject to their respective terms and conditions.
