POVA 8 5G Officially Breaks Cover in India with Alive Matrix Dot-LED Rear Display, 6.76″ 144Hz FHD+ IPS LCD Display, Dimensity 7100 SoC, and More
Finally, the POVA 8 5G has been launched in the Indian market, and as expected, it comes equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor. Speaking about its availability, the smartphone will be made available via Flipkart, and not Amazon India.

POVA 8 5G – Specs and Features
The newly-launched POVA 8 5G features an industrial-style rear design, and the brand describes it as being “engineered to be seen.” One of the key highlights of the device is its Alive Matrix dot-LED rear display, which can show notifications, time, battery status, music controls, gaming alerts, timers, productivity updates, and animations. More than 30 widgets are also supported on the rear secondary screen.
For its display, the POVA 8 5G sports a 6.76″ Full HD+ IPS LCD display screen, supporting a screen resolution of 1080 x 2344 pixels, 144Hz refresh rate, 16.7 million colors, and 381 PPI pixel density. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, paired with Mali-G610 MC2 GPU, LPDDR5X RAM, and it runs on the Android 16 operating system.
The smartphone packs an 8000mAh high-density Li-Polymer battery which is engineered for 2,000 charge cycles, and the brand claims that it can offer up to two days of battery life. A 45W charger is included in the box, and the device is said to charge up to 50% in 34 minutes. Thermal GO Cooling Tech has also been added, along with a 14,689mm² heat-dissipation plane, which is claimed to be 2.5x larger than before.
On the camera side, the POVA 8 5G comes with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 rear camera sensor, supporting lossless 2x optical-grade zoom and 2K video recording. For selfies, a 13MP front-facing camera has been given.
Speaking more, the POVA 8 5G supports 20 5G bands and is said to be built for India’s networks. It also features a payments-related feature, which allows payments to go through even when the text/SMS does not. Other connectivity features include 5G, 4G VoLTE, 4G LTE, WCDMA, GSM, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, NFC, USB tethering, OTG, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, and Google Maps support.
The device further comes with MIL-STD 810H drop testing, IP64 dust and water protection, Dolby speakers, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and compass. It measures 165.66 x 78.46 x 8.8 mm in size, and weighs 225 gm.
POVA 8 5G – Pricing and Availability
Although the POVA 8 5G has now been launched in India, its open sale will begin from 18th June at 12 PM IST via Flipkart. The smartphone will be available in two color options – 16 Bit White and Terminal Green.
Coming to its pricing, the 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at INR 29,999, while the 8GB + 128GB variant carries a price tag of INR 31,999.
Adding more, TECNO is also offering three months of Google AI Plus for free with the device. This will include benefits such as 2TB cloud storage, Gemini in Gmail, image generation, and learning tools.
