Following its launch in select global markets, the Moto G Max was also rumoured to arrive in the Indian market. Confirming the previous rumour, Motorola has now officially announced that the smartphone will break cover in India on the 14th of August 2026. Its dedicated microsite has also been made live on Flipkart, revealing that the Indian variant will feature different specifications compared to its global counterpart.

Moto G Max – Specifications Confirmed
Looking at its revealed specifications, the Indian variant of the Moto G Max will be powered by the 4nm-based Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 mobile platform and will come paired with 6GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. With RAM Boost, the available memory can be virtually expanded by up to 18GB.
In comparison, the already available global variant is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor and comes equipped with UFS 2.2 storage.
The upcoming smartphone will feature a 6.72″ LCD display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels, a pixel density of 391 PPI, an 8-bit colour depth, a 20:9 aspect ratio, support a 120Hz refresh rate, a 120Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 1050 nits of HBM brightness.
Its additional display features include Water Touch and Display Colour Boost, while Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection will be provided as well. The handset is listed with an AA-TP screen-to-body ratio of 90.53% and an AA-Body screen-to-body ratio of 85.97%.
Coming to its cameras, the Indian variant of the Moto G Max will sport a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera will accompany it.
An ambient-light sensor and an LED flash will also be present within the rear camera system. The global variant, in comparison, features a 200MP primary camera instead of the 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor offered on the Indian model.
For selfies and video calls, the smartphone will come equipped with a 32MP front-facing camera featuring an f/2.2 aperture, a pixel size of 0.7μm, Quad Pixel output of 1.4μm, and fixed focus. The front camera will support 2K video recording at 30fps and Full HD video recording at 30fps and 60fps. HD slow-motion recording at 120fps will be supported as well.
Google Photos editing features such as Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Reimagine, Auto Frame, Portrait Blur, Portrait Light, Sky, Colour Pop, and Cinematic Photos will also be supported.
The Indian Moto G Max will be backed by a large 7,000mAh battery (5200mAH in the Global Variant) supporting 30W TurboPower charging, which the company claims can provide up to 63 hours of battery life, while a 33W TurboPower charger will be included in the retail box.
On the software side, the smartphone will run on Android 16 out of the box, and the brand has promised two major Android OS upgrades and three years of security maintenance releases for the device.
A side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock will be provided for biometric authentication. ThinkShield for Mobile and Moto Secure will also be available, along with Google Gemini as its AI assistant.
Regarding its durability, the Moto G Max will carry an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance and comply with the MIL-STD-810H durability standard. The device will feature a satin-inspired rear finish, a plastic frame, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection at the front.
It will measure 166.23 × 76.50 × 8.60mm and weigh 213g. Pantone Stargazer, Pantone Alaskan Blue, and Pantone Malaga colour choices will be available.
Though its pricing is yet to be revealed, an earlier tip has revealed that the device will likely be priced under INR 30,000.
