A new Motorola device has now appeared on the Geekbench database, and interestingly, the listing has revealed a completely new moniker called Moto G Max. With this, it seems that Motorola could be planning to introduce a new ‘Max’ variant under its G-series lineup.

Motorola Moto G Max – Geekbench Listing

As per what has been revealed via the Geekbench listing, which was first spotted by tipster Abhishek Yadav, Motorola’s upcoming G-series handset will be arriving with the Moto G Max moniker. However, the benchmark listing does not reveal the model number of this device.

Speaking more, the listed Motorola smartphone has been tested with the Android 16 operating system and 8GB RAM option. The chipset’s codename mentioned on the listing is ‘MediaTek MT6835’, and it features two cores clocked at 2.50GHz and six remaining cores clocked at 2.00GHz. This confirms that the device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 SoC, paired with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, which has also been pointed out via the Geekbench platform.

Regarding its performance, the Moto G Max smartphone has achieved 818 points and 2154 points respectively in the single-core and multi-core tests. Notably, the ‘Max’ branding used in the moniker may likely suggest a larger battery capacity, as several smartphone makers have been using similar names for their battery-focused devices.

Also to add, Motorola has used similar branding in the past as well. During the early 2010s, the brand introduced devices such as the Droid RAZR Maxx and RAZR HD Maxx, which were known for packing larger batteries at a time. Later in 2014, the Moto Maxx was also introduced globally, while the same device arrived as the Droid Turbo in the US market.

However, Motorola later moved away from the ‘Maxx’ branding, and its battery-focused philosophy was continued through the Moto G Power series. On the other hand, its premium smartphone approach later moved towards the Motorola Edge Plus and Razr Ultra lineups.

As of now, nothing more can be said about this upcoming Motorola device, since this is the first time the handset has appeared on a database. However, this may not be the last time we hear about it, and more details concerning the Moto G Max smartphone can be expected to be revealed soon.

Stay tuned for more updates.
