Mahindra XUV700 

Mahindra unveiled the XUV700 last October. Mahindra’s monocoque SUV is reasonably priced and loaded with features. The Mahindra XUV700 received a 5/5 star rating in adult safety after scoring 16.03/17 points in the Global NCAP crash test. It received a 4-star rating for child safety after scoring 41.66/49 points. The Mahindra XUV700 starts at Rs 13.18 Lakh and is available with petrol and diesel engines, as well as manual and automatic transmission. The XUV700’s top-of-the-line AX7 variant is also available with AWD.

Tata Punch

Tata launched the Punch in October of last year, the same month as the Mahindra XUV700. Both of these SUVs have proven to be the safest vehicles available in India for less than 15 lakh rupees. The Tata Punch is a micro SUV that sits below the Nexon and is only available with a petrol engine. It is one of the best value-for-money SUVs on the market today, which is why it has become the country’s fastest-selling vehicle.

Mahindra XUV300 

In February 2019, Mahindra unveiled the XUV300. It is a sub-four-meter compact SUV that was designed to dominate the market with several first-in-class features and technology. Because of all the technology and features, it is priced a little higher, so it never broke the sales charts, but it is one of the most loaded products in that price range. For nearly three years, it was the safest car in India. The Mahindra XUV300 received a 5/5 star rating in adult safety after scoring 16.42/17 points in the Global NCAP crash test. It received a 3 star rating for child safety after scoring 37.49/49 points. The Mahindra XUV300 starts at Rs 8.41 lakh.

Tata Altroz

Tata debuted the Altros as the Gold standard vehicle. We remember seeing the concept car that the Altroz is based on in the Auto Expo India 2018 and it was mesmerizing to look at. Fortunately, Tata did not make many changes and introduced the car as close to the concept as possible. It is the country’s safest hatchback. The Tata Altroz received a 5/5 star rating in adult safety after scoring 16.13/17 points in the Global NCAP crash test. It received 29/49 points for child safety, translating to a three-star rating. Tata Altroz starts from a price of Rs 6.30 Lakh.

Tata Nexon 

Another Tata vehicle on the list. Tata appears to have cracked the perfect code for producing safe automobiles. This one is immensely popular in India as well. The Tata Nexon requires no introduction; it has been the best-selling SUV in India for several months and for good reason. It is also the only SUV with petrol, diesel, and electric powertrain options. In the Global NCAP crash test the Tata Nexon scored 16.06/17 points in adult safety that translates to 5/5 star rating in adult safety. It received 25/49 points for child safety, translating to a three-star rating. The Tata Nexon starts at Rs 7.60 Lakh.
