TikTok plans to file suit against Donald Trump’s executive order

As tensions soar between China and the US, Chinese video app TikTok is reportedly planning to go to court to challenge the Trump administration’s crackdown on its service.

Trump’s executive order seeks to ban the short-form video app from operating in the US.

“To ensure that the rule of law is not discarded and that our company and users are treated fairly, we have no choice but to challenge the Executive Order through the judicial system,” said TikTok in a statement.

Downloaded more than a billion times around the world, TikTok is best known as an app wildly popular particularly with teenagers who create short videos, usually with music and dancing.
