Just earlier today, a new report concerning Nothing’s global operations came out, and it seriously surprised the brand’s fans across the globe. Via this report, it was claimed that Nothing is preparing to shut down its operations in 12 or more global markets, while continuing to maintain its strongest hold in India. Following the report, Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis has now shared a response on X, denying several of the claims and revealing more details regarding the situation.

Nothing Reportedly Planning to Exit 12 Global Markets
As per the report published by Digit, Nothing is said to be preparing to shut down its operations in 12 or more markets, including Japan, the Middle East, and certain parts of Europe. Poor global sales, rising memory prices, financial pressure, and declining shipment volumes are pointed out to be the possible reasons behind the reported decision.
Speaking about Nothing’s smartphone sales, the report claimed that the recently launched Phone (4b) has shipped only around 20,000 units globally since its launch, whereas the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro have together reached approximately 150,000 units. The report also suggested that the financial condition of the company is concerning and that the market exits could take place within the next few weeks.
Nothing Co-Founder Akis Evangelidis Responds
However, Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis has now posted a response on his X profile and rejected several of the numbers mentioned in the report. Looking into the Phone (4b)’s performance, Evangelidis claimed that Nothing sold 29,537 units of the smartphone on its first day itself and also broke sales records within its price segment.
He also confirmed that Nothing is indeed reorganising its teams to prepare for its next phase of growth, which will include dedicated business units, an AI-native business unit, and, because of this, individual country operations are being consolidated into regional hubs to help the company operate more efficiently.
While Evangelidis did confirm that the restructuring process is taking place, he mentioned that specific details cannot currently be shared due to regulatory compliance requirements and ongoing local consultation processes. He further described the numbers mentioned in the report as “way overblown” and called on the media to uphold factual reporting and journalistic integrity.
