Toyota officially unveils the new Land Cruiser FJ; Japan launch planned for around mid-2026

Until now, Toyota’s Land Cruiser lineup has included three distinct series- the Station Wagon, the Heavy-Duty model, and the core Land Cruiser model. The auto company has now unveiled the new Land Cruiser FJ model under the series.
Land Cruiser FJ
Exterior design
It follows a silhouette that emphasizes a square cabin. The model features a rectangular body with a dice motif and chamfered edges. The front and rear side showcases a composition of powerful bumpers and flared renders on a taut. Both front and rear corner bumpers are removable, segmented types, allowing only damaged parts to be replaced to improve repairability. It measures 4,575×1,855×1,960 mm and comes with a 2,580mm wheelbase.
Interior design
It features a cockpit layout, a horizontal instrument panel, a monitor, and a shift knob that allows natural operation. It achieves a good forward visibility through a low-set cowl and instrument panel, contributing to safe on and off-road driving. There is a low beltline that improves the visibility of road surfaces even on rough roads. It includes Toyota Safety Sense, an active safety package with advanced functions, including the Pre-Collision Safety system.
Performance
Land Cruiser FJ is equipped with a 4WD (part-time four-wheel drive system) engine that provides a 6-speed Super ECT transmission. It is revealed to offer 120kW maximum output and 246Nm maximum torque. It utilizes the platform refined in the IMV series and boasts outstanding off-road performance through wheel articulation equivalent to the 70 series. The wheelbase ensures excellent maneuverability with a minimum turning radius of 5.5m.
The company has also mentioned that options that expand the joy of customization will be introduced for the Land Cruiser FJ model, like round headlights, MOLLE panels, a robust exterior, and functional items.
Toyota will be unveiling the Land Cruiser FJ at its booth at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, to be held from October 30 to November 9. The Japan launch is planned for around mid-2026.
