MG Motor India has launched the 2022 Gloster in India, with a starting price of Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model comes in three variations: Super, Sharp, and Savvy. All three variants come standard with a seven-seat layout, with the Savvy variant getting a six-seat layout. Furthermore, the four-wheel drive option is only available in the top-spec model.
In addition to existing colors like Metal Black, Metal Ash, and Warm White, the SUV now has a new exterior color choice called ‘Deep Golden.’ In addition, the 4WD model receives British Windmill Turbine-themed alloy wheels. The SUV has a dual panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and a 12-way power adjustable driver seat with massage and ventilation functions for added convenience.
A 12-inch touchscreen and a high-quality audio system with 12 speakers are among the features. In addition, the infotainment system now supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Shortpedia news, and Gaana song search by voice command. Furthermore, the vehicle includes over 75 linked car functions.
In terms of safety, the current Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) now includes segment-first features like Door Open Warning (DOW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Lane Change Assist (LCA). These new safety measures join the SUV’s existing 30 standard safety features.
The redesigned MG Gloster is powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine that comes in two flavors. The turbo engine produces 157bhp at 4,000rpm and 373.5Nm of torque between 1,500 and 2,400rpm. The twin-turbo engine, on the other hand, produces 210bhp at 4,000rpm and 478.5Nm of torque between 1,500 and 2,400rpm. Both engine options come equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
