Yesterday, Kia launched its 2026 Sorento in the Indian market. This SUV is considered a strong contender in India’s premium 3-row SUV segment.
Kia Sorento: Features
On the outside, the SUV features Kia’s signature Tiger-nose grille with a honeycomb mesh pattern for the air inlets and a chrome surround. It boasts vertically stacked LED headlights with distinct Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), a faux silver skid plate, wraparound taillights at the rear, a rear wiper and washer and dual LED fog lamps on each side. It rides on 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and features roof rails, a satin trim on the front fenders, and chrome window surrounds. It measures 4815 x 1900 x 1785mm (with roof rails) and comes with a 2815 mm wheelbase.
Coming to the cabin, there are two dual-tone cabin themes: grey-and-black or brown-and-black. It features dual 12.3-inch displays, and the infotainment and instrument cluster UI can be personalised with 9 themes from Marvel, Pixar and Disney. There is a touch-enabled panel with scrollers for infotainment and climate control settings, a 4-spoke steering wheel, a centre console with a rotary drive selector dial and a premium knurled finish, a wireless phone charger, and cup holders.
It offers a choice between 6 and 7 seats. The front seats are ventilated, have 10-way power adjustability and offer adjustable lumbar support. Other features include: a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a head-up display and a powered tailgate.
10 airbags, a digital inside rearview mirror, a 360-degree camera, auto parking assistance, front and rear dashcams, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, and Level 2+ ADAS are included safety features.
There are two powertrain options: a 1.6L turbo-petrol strong hybrid version produces 180hp and 265Nm and an electric motor produces an additional 65hp and 264Nm, mated to a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission (AT); the 2.2L diesel version produces 193hp and 442Nm, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). Both the strong hybrid version and the diesel version are offered with an FWD or AWD setup.
