Yamaha MOTOROiD 2 – A New Take Over the Conventional Idea of a Bike?
The Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2025 winner – Yamaha’s MOTOROiD 2 is indeed a new take over the conventional idea of a bike as it tries to explore a new relationship between machines and people. Its organic and translucent appearance that provides a life-like experience, along with the interface that expresses emotions with the help of light, touch, and movement, further deepens this relation. Also, the ‘LEAF’ – haptic device that is located at the center portion of the bike enables riders to communicate with it non-verbally with just touch and vision. This sensory connection that is offered or promised on Yamaha’s MOTOROiD 2 is the differentiating feature of the concept bike.
Speaking more, the LEAF structure also acts in providing its riders the needed support and also helps them in maintaining the required posture while riding – substituting the need of a handle. Additionally, there are hand grips too given on both the sides. The upgraded Active Mass Center Control System as well as the Image Recognition AI are more of its features. Thus, from the first generation that carried out the orders of its users like a worker, the second generation of the Yamaha MOTOROiD deepens the relation of the rider with the bike and uplifts its position to that of a life companion or partner.
