Goa Transport Department suspends Ola’s trade certificate; Automaker cannot sell EV scooters or bikes in Goa until further notice

Previous reports revealed that various Ola electric scooter owners in Goa have complained about overlong repair delays, lack of service support, lack of spare parts, and unclear warranty protocols. After the matter escalated, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) representatives engaged with Ola, and temporary service teams were deployed by Ola following the intervention, but that relief was short-lived.

Now, after repeated reports of service failures and the company’s inability to address the concerns of existing customers, the Goa Transport Department has suspended the company’s trade certificate and has also blocked all Ola Electric registrations on the Vahan registration portal, preventing any further registrations and halting all new vehicle sales in the State.

It is revealed that Ola will now receive an official notice regarding the suspension. This move comes after various owners met RTO officials and the Chief Minister of Goa, urging immediate action.

It is said that the customers affected will be assisted in filing complaints in the consumer court, ensuring that grievances are addressed promptly. Though the suspension of the trade certificate is temporary and will be removed once the company demonstrates adequate after-sales support infrastructure.
