Whether you are craving a specific food or a scenic spot, just tell Gemini what you are looking for. Gemini will reference information from Google Maps to find options, while you can also ask follow-up questions. Relevant, real-time updates about your journey from Google Maps empower you to make informed decisions and drive with confidence.
Users can even ask Gemini to summarise their text messages and send a response. You can even create a perfect vibe inside the car by telling Gemini which song to play.
Apart from this, Gemini Live is in beta. Just tap the Gemini Live button from the overlay or say, “Hey Google, let’s talk” to start a free-flowing conversation. With Gemini Live, you can learn about your destination or brainstorm activities.
Google has also worked closely with automakers to integrate Gemini deeply with your vehicle’s systems. You can ask questions about your car and get answers tailored to your specific car model because Gemini draws directly from manufacturer-provided owner’s manuals. You can get real-time EV insights.
Availability
The rollout will start with English in the US and continue over the coming months. Eligible users who are signed into their Google Account in their car will see the option to upgrade to Gemini.
Once upgraded, access Gemini by saying, “Hey Google,” tapping the mic on the home screen or using your steering wheel button. In the near future, Gemini will expand to more languages and countries and give drivers the ability to safely access their info in apps like Gmail, Calendar and Google Home.
