Xiaomi may not introduce an Ultra model under its upcoming Xiaomi 18 series and would rather have a three-device lineup comprising the vanilla Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro, and a new Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. While we are still months away from the expected Chinese debut of the series, tipster Yogesh Brar has now shared a few key details concerning its Indian launch.

Xiaomi 18 Series – India Launch Timeline Tipped
As per the latest details shared by tipster Yogesh Brar in collaboration with Smartprix, Xiaomi is likely to launch its upcoming Xiaomi 18 series in the Indian market sometime in December 2026.
Notably, this would bring the flagship series to India around two months earlier than the company’s traditional launch schedule. Indian consumers generally have to wait until early spring to get their hands on Xiaomi’s latest number-series flagship devices; however, the brand is reportedly planning a much faster rollout this time.
Speaking of its expected lineup, the Xiaomi 18 series is tipped to include three smartphones—the Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro, and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The previously rumored Xiaomi 18 Ultra is reportedly no longer under development, and the same tipster had earlier mentioned that the technology originally developed for the cancelled Ultra variant was likely shifted to Xiaomi’s upcoming MIX-series smartphone in China, which is expected to feature the company’s in-house XRING O3 chipset.
Furthermore, as per him, the Pro Max variant will take the place of the Ultra variant instead.
Regarding its Indian availability, the tipster points out that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will also be introduced in the country. However, the premium device could be made available only in limited quantities, similar to the strategy earlier followed by the brand for some of its Ultra models.
Also to add, Xiaomi is reportedly not planning to limit its December launch event only to smartphones. The brand is expected to showcase several Xiaomi-branded home appliances and other connected ecosystem products alongside the Xiaomi 18 series.
These products could form part of Xiaomi’s larger plan to expand its connected home ecosystem in India. The company is reportedly preparing products such as smart air conditioners, refrigerators, next-generation air purifiers, and premium smart televisions for the country.
