The South Korean tech giant Samsung is said to unveil its flagship Galaxy S27 series next year. The rumour mill is filled with reports related to the upcoming Galaxy S27 series models (Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27 Plus, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra).
According to a Korean publication, ZDNet Korea, Samsung Electronics has begun mass production of components for the Galaxy S27 series.
Samsung reportedly begins mass production of Galaxy S27 series components
As per the publication, Samsung began mass production of some Galaxy S27 series parts last month, and full production starts from mid-October. The screen sizes of the upcoming four models are also revealed:
- Galaxy S27: 6.27-inch
- Galaxy S27+: 6.66-inch
- Galaxy S27 Pro: 6.47-inch
- Galaxy S27 Ultra: 6.89-inch
It is said that Samsung Display is also scheduled to begin mass production of the Galaxy S27 series OLEDs starting this month. The annual OLED shipment target for the Galaxy S27 series is reportedly between 47 million and 48 million units, which is more than 10% higher than its predecessor (Galaxy S26 Series: 40 million range).
The report reveals that an industry insider has shared that Samsung Display has set a shipment target of 2 to 3 million units for the newly added Pro model by the end of this year and 4 to 5 million units for next year.
The robust demand for the Galaxy S26 series, featuring the Privacy Display, also seems to have an impact, as the company is reportedly planning to expand the range of products featuring the Privacy Display (which stops people next to you from seeing your screen).
In the Galaxy S26 series, only the Ultra model arrived with the Privacy Display feature, but rumour has it that this time the Privacy Display will be available in the Pro and Ultra models of the Galaxy S27 series.
Memory chip prices have increased a lot, resulting in the increased pricing of new models. It is said that although the component production volume may increase due to the addition of a new model in the series, the company plans to use some components from the Galaxy S26 series for the Galaxy S27 series as well to reduce manufacturing costs.
Apple’s change in iPhone launch strategy this year is said to be a factor behind the expansion of the Galaxy S27 series. Last month, Apple released the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo models, while the Standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 are said to be released in Q1 2027.
