Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 EPREL Listing Reveals Better Battery Life Than Its Predecessor; Z Fold 8 Ultra Also Listed

Samsung has already opened the pre-reservations for its upcoming Galaxy foldable smartphones in the Indian market, and the devices are expected to break their cover on July 22nd, 2026, at the next Galaxy Unpacked event. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Series – Battery Endurance Details Tipped

Citing the European EPREL database, tipster Ice Universe points out that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be backed by a 4,800mAh battery. As per the EPREL endurance testing, the foldable smartphone reportedly managed to offer a total battery endurance of 49 hours and 10 minutes on a single charge.

Comparing this with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the upcoming smartphone will receive a 400mAh increase in its battery capacity, as the previous-generation model packs a 4,400mAh unit (4272 mAh rated). The Galaxy Z Fold 7 achieved 40 hours and 28 minutes of endurance under the same EPREL testing, meaning the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 could offer around 8 hours and 42 minutes of additional battery life. This translates to an improvement of almost 22% in its overall battery endurance.

Speaking more, the tipster has also shared the battery endurance details of the expected Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The higher-end foldable is tipped to pack a larger 5,000mAh battery and reportedly achieved around 51 hours of battery endurance under the EPREL testing. Both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra are also said to support 45W wired fast charging.

For those unaware, EPREL stands for the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling, which is the European Union’s official database for products carrying energy labels. Starting June 20th, 2025, smartphones and tablets placed on the EU market are required to display details such as their energy efficiency, battery endurance, battery lifespan, repairability, resistance against accidental drops, and protection from dust and water.

Unlike the battery-life claims generally shared by smartphone manufacturers for specific tasks such as video playback, the EPREL battery endurance rating is obtained using a standardized testing method. Since eligible smartphones are evaluated under the same methodology, the results offer a more consistent way of comparing battery endurance across different devices.

At this time, Samsung has not officially confirmed the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra monikers or their battery specifications. However, the brand’s upcoming foldable devices are expected to be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 22nd, 2026.
