Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 revealed to arrive with some form of Qi2 support while Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will come with eSIM support; Foldables tipped to arrive with similar prices in most markets

The South Korean tech giant Samsung is expected to unveil its latest foldable smartphones- Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 in Q3, 2025. The rumor mill has been buzzing lately with the updates of these upcoming devices, while Samsung has recently announced that One UI 8 will make its debut with its next foldables this summer.

Recently, a new Samsung device was spotted on the Wireless Power Consortium (Via 9to5Google)website that supports the Qi 2.1.0 version. The device carries the model number SM-D637U, which does not look similar to other Samsung line-ups.

But while digging about this model number, it was found that WPC has previously used SM-D617D number in reference to the Galaxy Z Fold 5, while SM-D269N was used for Galaxy Z Fold SE.  Looking at this, it is assumed that SM-D637U could be used in reference to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The above listing suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will arrive with Qi2 support. This is because Qi2 Ready was introduced early this year as a part of the Qi 2.1.0 update, which Samsung has registered this device with. However, it is said that it is highly unlikely that the device will arrive with proper Qi2 support. The listing could mean that the device is certified to work with cases that add a magnetic ring for charger alignment and accessories.

If the assumptions turn out to be true, Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be one of the first foldables to arrive with some form of Qi2 support.

Apart from the WPC listing, a mobile operator website, Vini, reveals that both Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 smartphones will arrive with eSIM support. In related news, a tipster @PandaFlashPro on the X platform revealed in January 2025 that Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 will arrive at the same prices in most markets.

And now few days back, the tipster shared that a few countries will get price increases, while most of the markets will keep prices of these upcoming foldables similar to the previous ones. (Galaxy Z Fold 6- $1,899, Galaxy Z Flip 6- $1,099).
