Samsung has officially announced that One UI 8 based on the Android 16 platform will make its debut on Samsung’s newest foldables this summer and will gradually expand to more Galaxy devices so users can enjoy an enriched, more personalized mobile experience with the latest version of Android.

Yesterday it was revealed that One UI 8 beta program has finally started in Korea. Along with Korea, this program has also started in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States for Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones.

One UI 8: Features

Personalized AI

One UI 8 comes with enhanced AI features that were first introduced in the Galaxy S25 series. Three main factors that realize this: multimodal capabilities, Intelligent multimodality and updated UX. One UI 8 will also recognize your context, offering personalized, proactive suggestions that support your unique daily routine. Features like Now Bar and Now Brief will deliver even more customized insights.

Samsung Knox Vault combines a dedicated secure processor with secure memory to isolate sensitive data from the rest of your data. One UI 8 also provides settings where you can choose to process data only on the device, as many of the Galaxy AI experiences use both on-device and cloud-based AI processing.

Convenient & Intuitive tools

Auracast will support effortless audio connection via QR code scanning and sharing allowing multiple Auracast devices like Buds 3 and hearing aids to join a shared audio stream without the hassle of a complex manual setup. Customer support at repair centers will be faster and more convenient with the help of QR and NFC-enabled support accessible right in the Samsung Account.

The reminder app will arrive with more convenient and intuitive features like managing all reminders in one place, voice-enabled reminders and sharing of to-dos list with the press of a button. A single tap of the Quick Share button in the Quick settings panel will let you instantly send and receive files.
