Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Series – Revealed to Launch Carrying Higher Price Tags?

As per the latest report, Samsung is now expected to unveil its Galaxy S26 series flagships at higher price points when compared to the previous Galaxy S25 series, while the Galaxy S25 series were brought out at almost the same pricing as the Galaxy S24 series. The reason for the price to increase like this is because of the boom that was witnessed in the memory semiconductor market, along with the successive increases of key component prices.

Industry sources state that prices for smartphone components are all increasing, including the price for mobile APs. The semi-annual report of Samsung Electronics also mentioned that the price of mobile APs rose by 12%. Additionally, the same report also mentioned that the price for camera modules rose by 8% as well.

Another reason that is believed to bring the Galaxy S26 series price up is the shortage of memory for ordinary smartphones due to the demand for HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) by AI servers. Market research firms also note that the price for 96GB LPDDR5 DRAM increased by 16% when compared to that in Q1 2025. The prices still show a steep upward trend, and it might still be going up. Also, smartphone tariffs and other external uncertainties are all factors too that will determine the pricing for the Galaxy S26 series.

Speaking more, the result of increased component costs have already taken effect in the new products introduced by other brands like Apple, Redmi, Vivo, and OPPO. For Apple, the pricing of the iPhone 17 series has increased, and the same is expected on the next iPhone 18 series as well. The October 2025-released Redmi K90 series smartphones also had increased price tags when compared to the previous versions. Both Vivo and OPPO are also said to have joined the trend, bringing notable changes in pricing when compared to their predecessor models.
