Just a few days back, we had discovered an unrecognised Redmi smartphone carrying the model number “2607FRNEAG” on Singapore’s IMDA certification database, and at that time, its moniker was not known. However, thanks to Polish tipster Kacper Skrzypek, the moniker of this upcoming smartphone has now been uncovered via the Geekbench listing database.

According to the screen grab shared by the tipster of this smartphone’s Geekbench listing, the same above-mentioned model number “2607FRNEAG” can be seen on it. While its moniker is not directly mentioned on the listing page, the “Redmi 17C 5G” moniker has been found via the source code of its Geekbench listing.

Another important detail revealed is its codename of “tornado,” which, by the way, is also the same codename used for the Redmi 15C 5G, aka the POCO C85 5G. Therefore, the tipster claims that this upcoming Redmi smartphone is likely to come as a rebrand of these smartphones.

Moreover, the listing also confirms that the device will likely come equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, as it shows the same core architecture consisting of two cores clocked at 2.40GHz and the remaining six cores clocked at 2.00GHz. Along with this, the Android 16 operating system and a 4GB RAM variant are also mentioned on the database for this upcoming device.

Performance-wise, the Redmi 17C 5G smartphone has achieved a single-core score of 729 and a multi-core score of 1,692 on the Geekbench 6.7.1 benchmark platform.

While the rest of the specifications of this upcoming smartphone are still in the dark, as pointed out by the tipster, it could arrive as a rebrand of the Redmi 15C 5G or POCO C85 5G, which would mean that it may carry a similar spec sheet. You can read more about it below.
