Last month in May, a new leak had revealed that Vivo is working on a handheld gimbal camera with a 200MP sensor, called the Vivo Pocket. Now, it seems that OPPO is also moving in the same direction, as a tipster has revealed that the brand may launch a similar device.

Here is more to it.

Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu has shared this news, and as per what has been revealed, OPPO has already started testing its own version of the Vivo Pocket, which is currently being called the OPPO Pocket. He further added that similar to Vivo’s upcoming device, OPPO’s rumoured handheld gimbal camera is also being tested with a 200MP sensor.

Coming to the recent leak shared by tipster DCS, also known as Digital Chat Station, the current Vivo Pocket prototype is said to feature a 1/1.1-inch 200MP LYT901 sensor and a decent processor. The tipster also claimed that the device is being designed with a hardware approach similar to mobile imaging. Notably, DCS had also earlier mentioned that OPPO is working on a similar project and may launch it by the end of this year, which further corroborates what the new leak has revealed.

Speaking of the design, Vivo Pocket’s patent files had earlier revealed a design similar to the DJI Pocket 4 gimbal camera. While OPPO’s version has not yet been revealed officially, it could also arrive as a compact handheld imaging device with a focus on mobile-style photography and videography.

As two tipsters have now pointed out that OPPO is also working on a similar device, more details regarding the rumoured OPPO Pocket can be expected in the coming days.

Stay tuned for more updates.
