Vivo Pocket handheld gimbal with 200MP camera tipped to launch around Q4 2026; Patent images leaked online

The Chinese manufacturer Vivo is rumoured to soon enter the compact vlogging camera segment with its handheld gimbal device, expected to be called Vivo Pocket.

Reportedly, Vivo has confirmed that it internally initiated a project for a Vlog camera at the end of last year, and the project is said to compete with DJI’s Pocket series. Earlier reports claimed that the Vivo Pocket handheld gimbal device could launch in the third quarter of this year, but as per a Chinese publication, the device is said to make its debut during the fourth quarter of this year.

In February, folks at Thenewcamera spotted the patent files of the Vivo pocket gimbal camera. The camera design resembles the DJI Pocket 4 gimbal camera. The patent file reveals a gimbal device comprising a camera module, rotatable screen, main body and connecting arm assembly.

According to the latest information shared by tipster Digital Chat Station, the current prototype is 1/1.1” in size and uses a LYT901 200MP sensor and has a decent processor. The tipster also claims that the device is being designed with a hardware approach similar to mobile imaging.

Other than Vivo, Oppo is also said to be working on a handheld gimbal camera that could debut at the end of this year.
