In July, OnePlus teased the launch of the OnePlus 16 smartphone in China. While the brand did not disclose the launch date or timeline, online reports and rumours suggested that the device may make its debut in October in the Chinese market.
Recently, an alleged OnePlus 16 device was also spotted on the SRRC database. Today, tipster Digital Chat Station has shared some display details about this upcoming flagship device via the Weibo platform.
OnePlus 16: Display features tipped
According to the tipster, the OnePlus 16’s display will arrive with BOE’s exclusive custom-designed X4 luminescent material and will boast the industry’s first global 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate. It will arrive with a self-developed display chip with a brand-new process and the industry’s only chip with three calibrations per chip.
The device is said to feature Oppo’s latest bright eyes protection technology and will come with ultra-narrow four-sided equal bezels. The tipster mentioned that the OnePlus 16 also has some exclusive new gaming technologies, the details of which he will reveal later.
Previous reports suggested that the device is expected to arrive with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC and a 9,000 mAh battery. In related news, it was also tipped that this time the OnePlus 16 smartphone may not make its debut in India, though nothing is confirmed as of yet.
