As per what the tipster has shared, Apple’s first foldable smartphone is expected to feature a dual-cell battery setup consisting of 1921mAh and 2962mAh battery units. Combined, the device will reportedly offer a total battery capacity of 4883mAh.

Now, if we compare this with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, its battery capacities have also been tipped to be around the same range. The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to be backed by a 4800mAh battery, while the rumoured Ultra variant could feature a larger 5000mAh battery.

This would mean that Apple’s very first foldable smartphone may offer battery capacity similar to Samsung’s upcoming foldable devices. Moreover, since this will reportedly be Apple’s first entry into the foldable smartphone segment, the device is likely to create a lot of buzz and could offer tough competition to Samsung.

As per a previous report, the upcoming foldable iPhone is likely to feature a 5.5″ cover display, along with a larger 7.8″ inner OLED display panel supplied by Samsung. The handset is also expected to be powered by Apple’s A20 chip (not launched yet) and could come equipped with the company’s C2 modem.

Apart from this, the device is tipped to feature a Touch ID-integrated power button and a dual rear camera setup. Some reports have also pointed towards an expected pricing of around USD 2,000.

To note, the rumoured display sizes of Apple’s upcoming foldable smartphone are also said to be similar to those expected on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8. While Apple is tipped to use its rumoured 2nm A20 chipset for the foldable device, Samsung is expected to equip its upcoming foldable with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. Therefore, it would be interesting to see how both devices perform in the real world once they are officially launched.
