Xiaomi 18 Pro Series – Model Number Confusion

As mentioned below, information emerging through leaks and tipsters can sometimes be inaccurate. The Geekbench details themselves also raise questions about the recently claimed marketing names of these two model numbers.

The ‘M610BB’ model, which is now being associated with the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, is listed with the Adreno 845 GPU and achieved 2831 points in the single-core test and 8843 points in the multi-core test. In comparison, the ‘M154FF’ model features the Adreno 850 GPU and recorded higher single-core and multi-core scores of 3054 and 9376 points, respectively.

This makes the latest model association appear questionable, as it would be unusual for the alleged Pro Max variant to feature a differently listed GPU and achieve lower benchmark scores than the Pro model. However, benchmark results from pre-release devices can vary depending on software optimisation and testing conditions.

Furthermore, the ‘M154FF’ model had appeared on Geekbench earlier, and tipster Digital Chat Station had reportedly associated it with the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max at the time. Based on the currently available details, it appears more likely that ‘M154FF’ belongs to the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, whereas ‘M610BB’ could be associated with the Xiaomi 18 Pro.

Nevertheless, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the marketing names connected to either model number. It would therefore be best to treat these model associations with a pinch of salt until the brand reveals more details about the Xiaomi 18 Pro series.

There has been considerable confusion surrounding the alleged model numbers of the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro series because of conflicting leaks and rumours. The ‘M154FF’ model number, which was previously associated with the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, is now being pointed out to belong to the Xiaomi 18 Pro instead.

Adding to this, another Xiaomi device carrying the model number ‘M610BB’ has now appeared on the Geekbench database, and the latest rumours suggest that it could be the Chinese variant of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.

Here’s more about the listing.

Alleged Xiaomi 18 Pro Max (M610BB) – Geekbench Listing

As per the Geekbench listing, the Xiaomi ‘M610BB’ smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm SM8975 chipset, which is currently pointed out to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.

The listed processor features an octa-core CPU configuration consisting of two cores clocked at 5.01GHz, three cores clocked at 4.03GHz, and three cores clocked at 3.74GHz. The device is also revealed to run on the Android 17 operating system and feature approximately 16GB of RAM.

Interestingly, the Geekbench listing mentions the Adreno 845 GPU instead of the Adreno 850 GPU revealed through the earlier ‘M154FF’ listing. This difference further adds uncertainty surrounding these alleged devices and their final hardware configurations.

While recent rumours associate the ‘M610BB’ model number with the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and the earlier ‘M154FF’ model with the Xiaomi 18 Pro, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the marketing names associated with either model number.

With different tipsters sharing conflicting information, it would be wise to take these claims with a pinch of salt. A similar confusion had also occurred with the earlier Geekbench listing, which was initially believed to belong to the Pro Max variant.

However, Xiaomi has now started teasing the Xiaomi 18 Pro series for its home market of China, and more official details about the upcoming devices are expected to be revealed soon.
