Xiaomi’s 15 series was launched in China last year with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and rumors were high that the Ultra variant will also be coming in. Though it was missing from the series initially, it is expected to launch in China next month, followed by a global release.
Now, we might have our first look at the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, thanks to tipster Kartikey Singh, who shared an image on X. Although the design schematic was leaked earlier, this image reveals a notably different design from the rest of the 15 series. Instead of the square camera module, Xiaomi appears to be bringing back its iconic circular design.
The leaked image reveals three circular camera cutouts at the bottom of the module. The first is likely the main 1-inch 50MP sensor, accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom capability. Above these three sensors, on the left, is the LEICA branding, while on the right is a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with macro capability and 4.3x zoom as per previous reports. An LED flash is positioned at the top. The outer ring of the camera module appears to be red, while the rear panel showcases a black vegan leather finish. Rumours also suggest the device might come with glass or ceramic back panel options.
Interestingly, earlier CAD-based renders displayed slightly different placements. For instance, in the leaked image, the LEICA branding is vertical, whereas the renders showed it in a horizontal position. Additionally, the renders depicted a single rear flash, while the leaked image suggests a dual-flash setup.
