[Update: Airtel is also down] Jio is down for several users in southern India

Update at 14:47 IST: It appears that other major networks are also facing outages in the southern part of India. Airtel users have begun reporting similar issues, with no network coverage in several areas. According to Downdetector, reports of Airtel disruptions started appearing around 2:15 PM IST. So far, there has been no official statement from any of the service providers. Additionally, a user on X (formerly Twitter) has claimed that BSNL users are also experiencing the same issue.

Several users are now reporting issues with the Jio network, with disruptions first appearing around 1:44 PM IST, according to Downdetector. In addition to mobile connectivity, many users have also reported that their Jio Fiber broadband services are not working. As of the time of writing, approximately 11,737 users have reported the issue on the platform. A closer look at the outage map indicates that users in the southern parts of India appear to be the most affected.

Currently, there is no official statement from Jio regarding the cause of the outage or an estimated time for service restoration. We also checked Jio’s official social media channels, but no update has been posted yet.
