The Anonymous Collective has claimed to hack the website of a crucial organization named ASP-PROEKT, which is an enterprise located in Russia’s Stary Oskol and deals with architectural, engineering, and related services. The Twitter handle of @Anonymous_Link, provided a link to the company website when clicked it shows that it has been hacked.

The Collective has compromised a major website of the Russian Federation that provide solutions for power supply, electrical equipment, and automation systems all over Russia. The Collective has said that it is a form of protest against the pro-Russian cybercrime group Killnet that hacked government and private websites across Lithuania earlier this week.
Russian hacker group Killnet has performed a distributed denial-of-service or DDoS cyber-attack on Lithuania by disrupting normal traffic of the targeted server. This kind of cyber attack helps the threat actor to compromise several devices at once by targetting the linked server. An overwhelming amount of traffic in the server can cause a temporary loss of internet connectivity. The threat actor attempt to exhaust the target’s resources by creating a denial of service and these multiple resources are used to attack an organization’s online presence. The target organization experiences interruption because its server is flooded with HTTP requests and traffic, denying access to legitimate users. The DDoS attacker then initiates ransomware warfare by deploying malware.
Killnet targeted Lithuanian websites after the nation decided to block the transport of the Russian goods to Kaliningrad. The hacker group targeted several state and private institutions. The Baltic country’s National Cyber Security Centre said in a statement, “It is very likely that attacks of similar or greater intensity will continue in the coming days, especially in the transportation, energy, and financial sectors.” Later a spokesperson of Killnet confirmed that the cyber attack was conducted by them in response to the transport block.
The Anonymous Collective has declared war on Killnet following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Collective targeted several Russian government websites and leaked its data on several hacking forums. They have reprogrammed Russian media clips to show images of the conflict and performed DDoS attacks against the Russian space agencies. The Collective has directly hit Killnet websites performing the same cyber attack the Russian hacker group used on victims.
The Collective has hacked the Russian engineering company’s website in response to the recent attack on Lithuania. The Collective has also claimed to avenge the Lithuanian people in the dramatic hacking mission. They said on the website confirming the hack, “OpRussia will continue as long as Putin’s troops step on Ukrainian soil. F*ck Putin-Stop War.”
