Vivo, which is one of the biggest smartphone makers, appears to have its social media account on X hacked, as several unusual posts have been shared from the account that do not concern anything related to the company.
Read more about it below.
Vivo India’s X Account Appears to Have Been Hacked
The account in question is Vivo India, whose X account appears to have been compromised, and upon looking at several of the recent posts shared from the account, all of them concern Firelight FXRP rewards. The account is currently filled with multiple posts carrying almost the same message, which reads, “Check your Firelight FXRP rewards: #nnIbEg Firelight has opened Early Contributor Rewards with full protocol launch — a dedicated allocation of protocol emissions paid in FXRP. Addresses that accumulated Firelight Points from active support before the launch snapshot hold a…”
Also, it appears that the account may have been compromised around 12 hours back, and even at the time of writing this article, the same posts are still visible on it. So far, Vivo has not made any official announcement regarding what has happened, and neither does the account appear to have returned back to normal yet.
Another thing that I noticed while checking the account is that most of Vivo India’s usual posts also appear to be gone. Even after scrolling down quite a lot, the only posts that can currently be seen belong to these Firelight FXRP rewards-related messages, which further suggests that the account may have been compromised.
As mentioned, Vivo has not yet shared any official statement regarding the matter, and it is also not clear when the account will be restored back to normal.
Hoping that more details regarding what exactly happened will be revealed soon.
