Received a Notice from CBI? Well, Now You Can Check Its Authenticity Via the New ‘ABHAY’ AI Chatbot

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in the wake of several “Digital Arrest” scams, has announced a new AI-powered chatbot called “ABHAY”, which will help users check the authenticity of CBI notices.

CBI Announces New “ABHAY” AI Chatbot
As stated above, this tool has been designed keeping in mind the recent rise of “Digital Arrest” scams, where the victim is sent a fraudulent notice which appears to be issued by the law enforcement agency, falsely claiming that the individual was involved in some shady activities. Once the victim is deceived, the full-fledged scam starts, in which the person is kept under surveillance on the pretext of “Digital Arrest”.
Via this new ABHAY AI chatbot tool, the law enforcement agency, CBI, aims to protect users by scanning the notices in real time and confirming the authenticity of the same. As per the details shared online, this tool is currently valid only for CBI notices.

How to access the “ABHAY” Chatbot?
Step 1: Visit the CBI’s official website and then click on the ABHAY logo available on the main webpage (A new webpage will appear; click on start verification).

Step 2: To start, you will have to enter your mobile number and verify it using an OTP.

Step 3: Afterwards, upload a photo or scanned copy of the notice onto the platform. As per the details shared, PNG, JPEG, and PDF file formats are currently supported.
Step 4: Once you have uploaded the document, the AI system will verify the uploaded document with the official database and provide information regarding whether the uploaded notice is accurate or not.
Do note that this tool is currently valid only for CBI notices.
