Hive Ransomware upgrades to more advanced encryption method

Hive ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) scheme’s file-encrypting software is now updated. The software will now adopt a more advanced encryption method.

Hive has features to stop the services and processes of the security solutions of a system. Accordingly, Hive deletes backups to stop  recovery of the data in a system. But the ransomware has been advanced and now, it approaches to file encryption too. Due to the advanced feature of Rust, Hive is the second most ransomware element after BlackCat to be written in the programming language.

Hive is one of the most evolving ransomware , which was discovered in June 2021. It is now one of the most ranked ransomware in the RaaS groups. Consequently, the ransomware was designed to be used by the Ransomware-as-a-service providers (RaaS), to allow the newcomer cyber-criminals to launch the ransomware attacks on various sectors across the globe.

Cybersecurity researchers have also found a new ransomware called RedAlert which has a capability to target both Windows and Linux VMWare ESXi servers.
