In the Indian market, Vivo has now introduced its OriginOS 7 software, bringing changes to system animations, customisation, multitasking, and AI tools. Alongside it, the stable rollout schedule for eligible Vivo smartphones in India has also been revealed, with updates set to arrive in batches from October 2026 to February 2027.

Speaking about the interface, OriginOS 7 introduces Fluid Motion for smoother system animations and interactions, while Dynamic Translucent Material adjusts to the background to create a layered appearance. Additionally, Wiggle and Glint themes bring light and liquid-like effects to the lock screen. The AI Pet Pals feature also adds an interactive lock-screen pet which responds to taps, movement, charging, music playback, and battery status.

About its multitasking features, Origin Workbench supports up to five simultaneously active apps, and users will be able to resize the main window and switch between horizontal and vertical layouts. Compatible applications can also remain running in the background. Alongside it, AI Cross-App Drag allows text and images to be moved between applications, while an intent wheel provides actions which include text extraction, translation, and contact creation.

Also to note, OriginOS 7 can use AI to analyse information captured in screenshots, and details from flight bookings, tickets, and events can be identified to create calendar entries or reminders.

Speaking more about its AI tools, Jovi works across supported Vivo smartphones and PCs through Vivo Office Kit, allowing users to locate files, analyse their contents, and generate summaries. Additionally, AI Call Answering can answer calls when the user is unavailable, with support for real-time transcription, intent recognition, and summaries. The Call Overview feature can also transcribe and summarise recorded meetings, lectures, and conversations.

Regarding connectivity, Office Kit connects supported smartphones and PCs, while compatible connected devices can display notifications and related information. Origin Health brings supported health and fitness data together, and connected audio devices can show their battery and connection details through Origin Island. Vivo Spatial Audio is also supported on compatible devices.

The other sharing feature is Shake & Share, and this allows users to share batches of photos and videos with multiple users by shaking their smartphone.

As mentioned, the stable OriginOS 7 rollout is scheduled to begin towards the end of October 2026 in India, and the Vivo X Fold5 and X300 series devices are included in the first batch. The complete list of eligible devices and their rollout time frames has been provided below.
