Vivo recently confirmed that it will host the 2026 Vivo Developer Conference on September 16th, 2026, in China. During the event, the company will officially unveil OriginOS 7, Blue River OS 4, and several other developments. Ahead of the conference, Vivo has now revealed some of the performance improvements coming with OriginOS 7.

OriginOS 7 – Confirmed Performance Improvements
OriginOS 7 will arrive with an upgraded underlying system architecture and the new Blue River Smoothness Engine. Vivo claims that these improvements will offer smoother visuals, faster response times, and more fluid system animations.
According to the brand, the new operating system delivers a 14% improvement in rendering efficiency and is also claimed to offer 19% faster page-switching response and a 12% improvement in application launch speed.
Coming to storage management, OriginOS 7 supports a compression rate of up to 30%. Vivo claims that this feature can free up to 20GB of additional storage space on a device featuring 256GB of internal storage.
The upcoming operating system also features an upgraded heterogeneous computing architecture, and this feature is claimed to reduce peak power consumption by up to 20% while rendering system graphics and user-interface animations.
OriginOS 7 will also introduce natural lighting effects and more realistic material refractions across the user interface.
The Atomic Workbench feature has also received improvements for multitasking.
