OPPO ColorOS 16 May Monthly Update for Global Region Brings Live Space, O+ Connect, AI Features, and More

Following the May ColorOS 16 update roll-out announcement for the Chinese region, the Chinese smartphone maker – OPPO has now announced the ColorOS 16 May monthly update roll-out for the global region as well. As per the details shared, this update roll-out has started from the 5th of May and is expected to be completed by the 31st of May.

As mentioned, the ColorOS 16 May monthly update roll-out has now been announced for the global region, and this update will be made available to eligible OPPO devices in a phase-wise manner. Speaking more about the features that are being brought, the update will be focused on offering a smoother, smarter, and more connected user experience to users.

With this update, OPPO is adding the Live Space feature that will spotlight capsule notifications over the wallpaper, and users will also be able to tap on it to move into a more immersive experience. This feature has been added with the tagline – “Silence the Noise, Dive into Immersion.”

The O+ Connect feature will also be added with this update, and with it, users will be able to transfer files in an AirDrop-style manner with Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, and Mac). Several AI features including AI Grouping, AI Popout, AI Menu Translation, and AI Scan are also part of this update.

Speaking of the changelogs, seamless animations when switching between apps such as Messages, Weather, and Calendar for smoother switching, support for swiping up or down to browse stacked AI Suggest widgets while editing, AI-powered summaries for Live Translation, improved Live Translation with context awareness, AI Recording Sticker in Recorder, rich visual summaries with images, tables, flowcharts, and diagrams, improved App Cloner support to run up to three clones of supported apps, LUMO watermark, improved recording summaries, support for finding apps by colour in Drawer mode, and improved Eye Comfort settings page with a cleaner layout and simpler controls are part of it.

To note, the rich visual summaries feature will be supported in Belarus, Russia, Thailand, Taiwan (China), Singapore, Hong Kong (China), India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Malaysia.
