Nothing Announced Android 15 Developer Preview Beta 1 Program On Nothing Phone(2a)

Nothing has announced the Android 15 Developer Preview Beta 1 program on the recently launched smartphone Nothing Phone(2a). This brings with itself Glyph SDK support, Wallpaper, Nothing boot animation, and Android 15 Beta 1 tag. This is still in its early stage so you may come across some issues like unregistered fingerprint, unavailable face unlock, and no pre pre-installed Nothing X/Weather/Launcher/Recorder/Widgets.

How to upgrade to Android 15 Developer Preview

  1. Go to “Settings > About phone > Software info” to confirm that your system has been updated to the latest version (Nothing OS 2.5.5a). If not, please go to “Settings > System > System update” to check for updates.
  2. Download the latest software update package.
  3. Create a folder named “ota” in your device’s internal storage directory.
  4. Copy the package to the “ota” folder.
  5. Go to your phone’s dial screen and enter the following code: *#*#682#*#*
  6. The local update tool will now open. In the drop-down list that appears, select the upgrade package you just copied.
  7. Tap the “Directly apply OTA from selection” button to start updating.
  8. Reboot your device
  9. After the upgrade process is complete, a pop-up will appear asking if you would like to reboot your device. We strongly recommend selecting “Confirm” here, as upgrades require a reboot to enter the new version.
  10. Upgrade successful.
