Microsoft releases KB5068516 and KB5067040 dynamic updates for Windows 11 (version 24H2 and 25H2) and Windows Server 2025

A few days back, Microsoft officially released new dynamic updates KB5068516 and KB5067040 for Windows 11 (version 24H2 and 25H2) and Windows Server 2025. The dynamic updates bring improvements to the Windows Recovery in the form of Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) updates, called Safe OS update, as well as Setup updates.

KB5068516 Setup Dynamic Update

This update makes improvements to Windows setup binaries or any files that setup uses for feature updates in Windows 11, version 24H2, Windows 11, version 25H2, and Windows Server 2025. It is available through Windows Update. It will be downloaded and installed automatically.

KB5067040 Safe OS Dynamic Update

This update makes improvements to the Windows recovery environment (WinRE) in Windows 11, version 24H2, Windows 11, version 25H2, and Windows Server 2025. This update is also available through Windows Update. It will be downloaded and installed automatically.

These Dynamic Update packages are meant to be applied to existing Windows images prior to their deployment. You can also avail both of these updates on Microsoft’s Update Catalog website: KB5068516, KB5067040.
