Material 3 Expressive Design Details Leaked Ahead of Google’s I/O 2025 Event

The California-based tech giant – Google is all set to conduct its two-day I/O 2025 event from the 20th of May 2025 to the 21st of May 2025. Among the updates surrounding Gemini, Chrome, Cloud, Android 16 OS, and Android XR, the brand will also be unveiling Android’s Material 3 Expressive design – the latest version of the Material design theme at the event.
As we near Google’s I/O 2025 event, the brand itself has leaked the details concerning the Material 3 Expressive design via a blog post, however it has now been taken down. Read more about it below.
Material 3 Expressive Design – Leaked Details
As per the leaked details, the Material 3 Expressive or M3 Expressive design emphasizes more on details concerning the size, shape, color, containment, and motion that will help a product become more reliable and usable. Apart from grabbing attention, users will also be able to spot what they need more quickly and even navigate without any difficulties.
Speaking more, the blog post also pointed out that with Material 3 Expressive design, ‘age effects in fixation times’ has been removed and users with varying visual and movement abilities will be able to make use of it with much ease. High contrast visual containment, larger buttons, and more are part of the added elements/features.
This year’s annual Google I/O event will be going live exactly two weeks later on the 20th of May 2025 and ahead of this 2-day event, the brand will also be hosting a special edition of its ‘The Android Show’ on the 13th of May 2025 (next week) from which more details can be expected.
