The ColorOS 16 August 2026 update was recently announced for users in China, and now, the brand has also announced the update for its global audience. The monthly update brings several new features and improvements across Notes, the home screen, Photos, Phone Manager and other areas.

ColorOS 16 August 2026 Global Update – New Features and Eligible Devices
As per the poster shared by the official ColorOS Global X account, the ColorOS 16 August 2026 update is being rolled out to eligible devices in phases between the 1st and 31st of August.
Notes Gets Image Annotation Support
With the new update, users will be able to draw, highlight and annotate directly on images within the Notes application. The feature includes multiple drawing tools, colours and other annotation options to help users highlight important information.
The Notes image-annotation feature will be supported on the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, Find X9 Pro, Find X9s, Find X9, Find X8 Pro, Find X8, Reno16 Pro 5G, Reno16 5G, Reno15 Pro 5G, Reno15 5G and the listed Reno15 4G.
Clear Notification Badges From the Home Screen
Speaking more, ColorOS 16 users will now be able to clear all app-notification badges directly from the home screen. This can be done by performing a two-finger pinch-out gesture on the home screen.
New Currency Converter Widget
A real-time Currency Converter can now be pinned to the home screen. The widget will be available in new 2×2 and 4×2 sizes, allowing users to quickly access currency-conversion information.
The Currency Converter widget will be available in India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Malaysia.

AI Remix Collage in Photos
Coming to the Photos application, the August update introduces a new AI Remix Collage feature. It allows users to extract subjects from images and videos to create customised stickers, which can then be combined with different memories and other content.
Users will also be able to create personalised mood boards and edit the outlines, colours and arrangements of their stickers.
Block Suspicious App Activities
The Phone Manager application is also receiving a new security feature that can automatically detect and intercept suspicious app activities.
Along with detecting, it can also block malicious pop-ups, abnormal power consumption, unauthorised device-control attempts and other harmful activities running in the background.
The system can also disable the relevant app permissions to further protect the device. The feature can be accessed through ‘Phone Manager > Viruses & risks > Block suspicious app activities’.
Other Improvements
Users will now be able to customise the frequently used tools displayed on the Phone Manager home screen for easier access.
The Storage Cleanup page has also been reorganised into different categories, making it easier to navigate and manage stored content. This feature can be accessed through ‘Phone Manager > Storage Cleanup’.
Additionally, the hidden-app functionality has been improved. While using a hidden app, users can swipe upwards from the bottom of the screen towards the floating-window area in the upper-right corner to open the app in a floating window.

The ColorOS 16 August 2026 update is being rolled out between the 1st and 31st of August to the following devices:

Another detail which is mentioned in the poster is the inclusion of the ‘OPPO Reno15 4G’ in the compatible-device list, which creates a lot of confusion since this device is only available in 5G connectivity and even upon checking we didnt find a 4G variant of the Reno 15.
Therefore it is currently not clear whether the ‘Reno15 4G’ mention is a typographical error or refers to an unannounced regional variant. More clarification regarding this device is therefore awaited from OPPO.
