Oppo unveiled its hardware based ray tracing feature on new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor during Qualcomm Summit

Qualcomm unveiled its much-awaited flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform today which is promised to deliver 30% improvements in CPU, 25% GPU performance improvements, and 10% overall improvement in power efficiency. A series of smartphones were confirmed during Snapdragon Summit that will be powered by the chip in the upcoming days.

During this summit, Oppo not only unveiled its technological breakthrough but also the hardware-based ray tracing feature on the new premium Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The PhysRay Engine 2.0 proprietary ray tracing engine significantly improves the visual effects such as reflections and taillights in gaming, enabling complex and detailed gaming scenarios.

This collaboration was extended to a ray tracing pilot project that includes the Nitro Nation World tour mobile game by Mythical Games. This collaboration came out to be Oppo’s first ever mobile ray tracing experience in a real-world racing game demo which resulted in a more realistic and immersive gaming experience that users will enjoy in upcoming days. According to Oppo, the company’s future flagship smartphone will be one of the first to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It is expected to be a Find X7 Pro smartphone.
