IPL 2022: Yuzvendra Chahal, Shreyas Iyer and David Warner to be the top draws

With more than 1,200 players registered for the Indian Premier League mega auction to be held next month, Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal and David Warner are expected to be the top draws.
In addition to Shreyas and Chahal, the 10 teams will be bidding for Indian players like Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, spinner Rahul Chahar, and all-rounder Washington Sundar.
Between Rs 7 and 15 crores (between $1 and $2 million) are expected to be attracted by the above Indian players.
Foreign players like Warner, South African Kagiso Rabada, Australia’s Mitchell Marsh, New Zealand’s Trent Boult and Pat Cummins are likely to fetch big bucks. Chennai Super Kings players Faf du Plessis and Dwayne Bravo might still be interested in playing for their franchise.
IPL has announced that 1,214 players (896 Indians and 318 overseas players) have registered for the IPL 2022 Player Auction.
On February 12 and 13, Bengaluru will host the two-day mega auction.
The players are listed in this order. Teams will be sent the following questionnaire, which will be followed up with the names of the players they are interested in.
After the auction, the list will be pruned.
33 players were retained/picked ahead of the Player Auction. A total of 27 players have been retained by the existing eight franchises, including MS Dhoni by Chennai Super Kings, Rohit Sharma by Mumbai Indians and Virat Kohli by Royal Challengers Bangalore.
IPL franchises Ahmedabad and Lucknow have each picked six players, with Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul as captains.
Other big names retained include Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Kane Williamson, Jos Buttler and Glenn Maxwell.
Big names to miss out are Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Mitchell Strac, Sam Curran and Chris Gayle.
