Ex Indian Navy chief takes on Anand Mahindra over Agnipath Scheme

On the ongoing protest against the new military recruitment scheme ‘Agnipath’, industrialist Anand Mahindra said that he is depressed by the violence in the country.

Consequently, the chairman of Mahindra, on this issue, tweeted and said that the Mahindra Group will welcome the opportunity to recruit such trained and capable young Agniveers.

Accordingly, in the response to Anand Mahindra’s tweet, former navy chief Arun Prakash tweeted, “Why await this new scheme? Has the Mahindra Group, so far, reached out to thousands of highly skilled & disciplined ex-Servicemen, retiring every year & desperately seeking a second career? It would be nice to get some statistics from your Group.”

Consequently on this, Sandeep Manudhane a teacher and entrepreneur and an educationalist tweeted, “That’s the ex Chief of Indian Navy speaking”.

Several industry leaders like Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra, RPG Enterprises chairman Harsh Goenka and Biocon Ltd chairperson Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, consequently, supported the Agnipath recruitment scheme.
