Elon Musk has stated that he will let former President Donald Trump rejoin Twitter

Elon Musk said on Tuesday that if his bid to buy Twitter succeeds, he will let former President Donald Trump rejoin the social media platform. Because of the possibility of further instigation of violence, Trump was permanently banned from the social media site three days after the Capitol attack on January 6.

Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover could be heavily influenced by Donald Trump. According to some sources, Trump secretly encouraged Musk to buy Twitter a few days ago. Even if his account is reopened, Trump, who was permanently banned from Twitter for inciting rioting against the Capitol Hill building, has refused to return. Rumors abound that Trump will return as soon as Musk’s $44 billion purchase is completed.

Elon, on the other hand, disputes the rumor. He stated: “This is false. I’ve had no communication, directly or indirectly, with Trump, who has publicly stated that he will be exclusively on Truth Social” in one of his latest tweets.”

Following last year’s horrific attack on the US Capitol, Trump was barred from entering the country. Before the attack, he was known for promoting conspiracy theories and bogus claims of voter fraud, both of which contributed to the January 6 attack, in which a crowd of his supporters attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

Elon was questioned about Trump’s possible return to Twitter in an exclusive interview with the Financial Times on Tuesday at the Future of the Car conference. Elon claimed he will rescind the permanent ban on Trump after responding with remarks about when permanent bans should be implemented. He also mentioned that he does not yet own Twitter, so this is unlikely to happen.

Regarding the permanent bans, Elon argues that it should be incredibly uncommon and intended for bots or spam/scam accounts. However, he claims that this does not mean that people will be free to say whatever they wish. Elon remarked that anyone who shares something illegal or harmful to the world should be subjected to a timeout, interim suspension, or having their tweets hidden.
