Apple’s new patent – Car sunroof for self-driving “Apple Car”

The latest patent of Apple – ‘Car sunroof’  has been granted by US Patent and Trademark Office. Already we are used to seeing Apple working on new technologies and getting patents. But this time the company has been working in a bit different field, which is not for iPhone or iPad devices.

This newly Apple-patented sunroof has variable opacity glass. Thus driver has the option to adjust the sunroof’s transparency. The patent also has a sunroof that opens in sequence with side windows. Other cars with similar technologies in the market have fixed sunroofs.

The rumored “Apple Car” prototype will have the option for to driver to let the sunlight into the car without opening the sunroof or opening it fully. We can imagine this feature to work well with CarPlay or Siri.

Recently reported, sources show that Apple continues to develop a new self-driving vehicle system.

And also has been discussing manufacturing plans with other companies. Apple’s driving electric car has still years to launch. The company has loosed its multiple engineers from this self-driving project team earlier.
