Chetan Sharma gives update on Hardik Pandya’s return to International Cricket

Chetan Sharma, the Indian Cricket Team’s Chief Selector, has provided an update on Hardik Pandya’s health and his future with the team. There was no mention of Hardik Pandya in the squads announced for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.

Earlier, the BCCI and the selection panel asked Hardik Pandya to improve his fitness. The NCA asked him to work hard on his fitness. Chetan Sharma, however, states that Pandya has not met the fitness standards for his recall to the Indian team.
The Chief Selector gave an update on Hardik Pandya’s health while naming the Test and T20I squads for the Sri Lanka series. He said he would only be considered for selection if he was 100 percent fit again.

“Hardik was an important part of the Indian team. We will consider him again when he is 100% fit, bowling and match-fit.” Sharma stated.

The BCCI selection panel announced the squads for the Test and T20I series earlier in the day. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, who have been regular names in the Indian Test XI for a long time, were cut from the squad.
Further important developments have occurred. Rohit Sharma has been appointed captain of the Indian Test team. Sharma is also India’s white-ball captain. He has now been elevated to the position of all-format captain for India after being named Test captain.
