X Tests New ‘Most Recent’ and ‘Popular Posts’ Filters for Following Tab

X Following Tab new filter

It appears that X (formerly Twitter) is rolling out an update for the Following tab, where users see posts from accounts they follow. In this update, users will be able to choose between two predefined filters: Most Recent and Popular Posts. This change was first spotted by a user named @Iorel_x on X.

But when I checked the feature on my iPhone, it didn’t appear. I even updated the app from the App Store. The Following tab briefly shows a down arrow while loading, but it disappears afterwards. On Android and the web version, the feature is not available yet.

Most likely, it will gradually roll out across devices in the coming days. As of now, X has not made any official announcement about this feature. If X shares any updates, we’ll make sure to report them.
