Via a press release, WhatsApp explained that this feature is “built on top of our Private Processing technology, Incognito Chat lets you talk to Meta AI in a way that is invisible to anyone else.” Furthermore, the company also mentions that conversations carried out through Incognito Mode are processed as temporary chats and will only remain visible to the user itself. Meta additionally claims that even the company will not be able to access these conversations, as the messages are processed inside a secure environment.

Adding more to this, Meta is also preparing to introduce Side Chat functionality protected through its Private Processing technology on WhatsApp. Through this feature, users will reportedly be able to ask Meta AI for help regarding conversations with friends or colleagues in real time privately, alongside a separate mode that can be used for asking AI-related questions without leaving behind any conversation trail.

As per the details shared by Meta, the new Incognito Chat feature is expected to roll out in the coming months for both WhatsApp and the Meta AI app as well.
