Spotify reduces Premium Plan prices in India; Premium Lite plan removed

Last year, Spotify revamped its plans and introduced four new Premium plan tiers in the Indian market- Premium Standard (Rs 199/month), Premium Lite (Rs 139/month), Premium Student (Rs 99/month) and Premium Platinum (Rs 299/month).

Spotify has now announced a reduction in the Premium Plan costs, while the Premium Lite plan has been completely removed.

Reduction in Premium Plan Costs

Premium Standard Plan

It is now priced at Rs 139/month. The first time subscribers have to pay Rs 99 for 3 months, then Rs 139/month after. The benefits of this plan include:

  • Very high audio quality (up to ~320kbps)
  • Cancel anytime
  • Subscribe or one-time payment

Premium Student Plan

It is now priced at Rs 69/month. The first time subscribers have to pay Rs 60 for 2 months, then Rs 69/month after. The benefits include:

  • 1 verified Standard account
  • Download to listen offline
  • Very high audio quality (up to ~320kbps)
  • Cancel anytime

Premium Platinum Plan

The price of this plan remains unchanged- Rs 299/month. The benefits include:

  • Up to 3 Platinum accounts
  • Download to listen offline
  • Lossless audio quality ( up to ~24-bit/44.1kHz)
  • Mix your playlists
  • Your personal AI DJ
  • AI Playlist creation
  • Connect your DJ software
  • Cancel anytime
