Spotify Clips Feature Introduced for Podcast Sharing
Sharing a podcast episode or a particular part from it is something many users do, and for better easiness, Spotify has now brought a new Clips feature within its platform. With this feature, users will be able to not just share the whole podcast or a chapter, but rather trim a specific part and then share it with others. To access this, users can tap on the scissor icon in the Now Playing view while listening to a podcast, capture the moment they want to keep, trim it as per their choice, and then save or share it.
Speaking more, Spotify users will also be able to access more sharing options by tapping on the share button, following which they can choose to share the full episode, a chapter, a timestamp, or a clip. These clips can then be sent directly to friends via Spotify Messages or through any other supported platform. Also, apart from sharing, the saved clips will be available in a dedicated space in Your Library, and users will also be able to add them to podcast playlists whenever they want.
Additionally, as shared by the company, Chapters, which was launched earlier this year, are already being saved and playlisted more than 2 million times a month. Moreover, Spotify has also claimed that during early testing, podcast saving increased when Clips were enabled.
As mentioned, the new Spotify Clips feature is now being rolled out globally for free and premium users on mobile, while the company has also noted that its availability will be expanded across more shows over time.
