OpenAI’s ChatGPT Deep Research Tool Can Now Connect GitHub Repositories

The American AI tech company – OpenAI has enhanced its Deep Research tool on ChatGPT, bringing the GitHub connector. With this latest integration, ChatGPT has become capable of analyzing and generating research reports making use of codebases and engineering documents from GitHub. The feature will be made available to different ChatGPT subscribers over the next few days.

OpenAI’s First Deep Research Connector for ChatGPT Announced

The Deep Research tool that users can find on ChatGPT, making use of the data available across the web and also by going through other sources, is capable of generating comprehensive and well-cited research reports. With the first Deep Research connector that has been announced for ChatGPT, GitHub integration has been brought and users can now start asking questions regarding a codebase and document, and generate reports based on it. “I often hear that users find ChatGPT’s deep research agent so valuable that they want it to connect to their internal sources, in addition to the web.

Today we’re introducing our first connector in beta for deep research: GitHub.”

About its availability, over the next few days, this Deep Research connector will be made available and rolled out to ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Pro, as well as ChatGPT Team users. For ChatGPT Enterprise and ChatGPT Edu users also, the support will be coming soon to them.
